Claude Haiku 5.5 and GPT-6 Luna cost the same, but only up to 100,000 tokens. Both are $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output. Above 100,000, Haiku 5.5 goes to $0.50 / $2.50, while Luna also has a price increase at 272,000 tokens, but only to $0.20 / $0.75. Simon Willison says that within 100,000 tokens Haiku costs the same and reports higher benchmark scores, but above that Luna looks like a much better deal. He also flags a new tokenizer that uses around 1.25x as many tokens as Haiku 4.5 on the same long prompt, which he calls a hidden price increase. The model can't turn reasoning off and defaults to medium effort. Anthropic is also adding a monthly API credit for Max and Team subscribers that does not roll over.
